چکیده
Background/Aim: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARg) belongs to a family of nuclear hormone receptors and ligand-activated transcription factors. PPARG gene is expressed in many tissues including adipose tissue where it plays crucial role differentiation adipocyte, insulin resistance, blood glucose levels lipid metabolism. The aim the study was examine association rs3856806 polymorphism with body mass index (BMI), fasting parameters Serbian adolescents. Methods: This research included 287 adolescents both genders (143 boys 144 girls), 14-15 years age. Genotype detection done by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length (RFLP) assay. Results: Results showed statistically significant difference terms among girls (p = 0.013) depending on their genotype. Female carriers CC genotype had significantly higher level levels. Also, results that group overweight obese girls, CT or TT lower values HDL cholesterol compared - 0.000). However, this result not confirmed multiple regression analysis. Statistically observed BMI nor other parameters. Conclusion: associated girls. To draw definite conclusions, further should be conducted non-genetic factors polymorphisms gene.
